Required Qualifications:

• Valid Occupational Therapist (OT) certification in Virginia
• Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric OT environment preferred
• Strong knowledge of IEP processes and special education regulations
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork
• Ability to assess and document students needs and progress accurately
• Flexibility to adapt strategies for diverse learning and physical challenges

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate students to identify their individual occupational therapy needs within the school setting
• Develop, implement, and monitor intervention plans tailored to each students goals
• Collaborate closely with teachers, special education staff, and parents
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of educational objectives
• Provide direct therapeutic services, both individually and in small groups
• Maintain accurate and timely records of assessments, sessions, and progress
• Educate and support staff and families on strategies to reinforce progress at school and home
