Two positions are available for compassionate and skilled professionals looking to work with young learners during the summer session from June 29 to July 30. The role is based in the vibrant Flanders, NJ area, offering a unique opportunity to enrich your clinical experience in school-based occupational therapy.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid and active Occupational Therapist license in New Jersey
- Prior experience or interest in working with elementary school-aged children, preferably within a school setting
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to partner with educators, parents, and other support staff
- Ability to assess student needs, develop individualized education plans (IEPs), and implement therapeutic interventions effectively
- Organization and flexibility to adapt to a dynamic summer school environment
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver occupational therapy services to elementary students, addressing fine motor, sensory integration, and self-care skills
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support student progress in a classroom setting
- Document and track therapy sessions, progress, and outcomes according to school and regulatory guidelines
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute professional recommendations
- Empower students to achieve their functional goals, fostering independence and success in the academic environment
