The role offers the chance to work throughout a district, providing essential therapy services to a dynamic caseload of K-12 students from the start of the school year through late spring. With a consistent schedule and collaborative environment, you'll play a key role in empowering students to achieve their academic and developmental milestones.
Key Qualifications:
- Current Occupational Therapist license in Ohio (OH OT certification), or eligibility via compact licensure
- Previous experience in a school-based OT setting or a strong desire to support children and adolescents
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and fellow therapists
- Ability to assess, develop, and implement individualized intervention plans for students with diverse needs
- Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative occupational therapy services to K-12 students across the district
- Conduct assessments to determine students needs and abilities, creating targeted treatment plans
- Work closely with educators and families to address barriers to participation and promote student success
- Document progress, maintain accurate records, and participate in IEP meetings
- Provide resources, training, and recommendations to school staff for classroom adaptations and strategies
