Job Description

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program required
  • Active OT license for the state of Michigan or eligibility to obtain one
  • Previous experience in a school setting preferred, but not required
  • Ability to develop, implement, and update Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with teachers, families, and support staff
  • Empathy, creativity, and a passion for supporting students with varying needs
  • Familiarity with assistive technology is a plus

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate students abilities and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop treatment plans
  • Provide individualized and group therapy in accordance with students IEP goals
  • Track and document student progress, maintaining compliance with school and state regulations
  • Educate and support teachers and staff to adapt classroom activities and improve student participation
  • Engage in regular communication with families to provide progress updates and home strategies
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary discussions
