Embark on a fulfilling contract opportunity as a part-time Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) providing invaluable support to schools in the Valparaiso and Portage areas. This engaging position offers the chance to make a tangible difference in the lives of students by delivering therapy services in both elementary and specialized school settings.
Scheduled for 14 hours per week, spread across two days from 7:45 AM to 3:15 PM with a 30-minute unpaid lunch, this role begins on May 5th, 2026, and concludes on June 5th, 2026. Key Qualifications:
- Valid OT or COTA license required (must provide copy with resume)
- Experience or strong interest in school-based occupational therapy
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to helping students achieve their optimal level of independence
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and deliver direct therapy interventions to a diverse student caseload
- Develop and implement individualized education program (IEP) goals and treatment plans
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to ensure positive therapy outcomes
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports in accordance with school standards
- Contribute to a supportive, inclusive, and effective learning environment
