Job Description

Qualifications:

  • Valid Occupational Therapist license in Michigan
  • Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program
  • Previous experience in a school setting preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Experience with IEP documentation and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments to evaluate students fine motor, sensory, and functional needs in the school environment
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized therapy plans based on students unique goals
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to adapt classroom materials and strategies for student success
  • Document progress and maintain compliance with school district and regulatory standards
  • Participate in IEP meetings, providing insight and recommendations for occupational therapy supports
  • Educate school staff and families about strategies to improve student independence and participation
