Job Description

Make a positive impact on students lives by utilizing your skills as an Occupational Therapist in a supportive school environment. This contract opportunity is located near Faywood, NM, and is full time, with 37.5 hours per week dedicated to working directly with students. Your caseload will focus primarily on elementary-aged children, with about 30 students total, but may also include some middle and high school students as needed.

Key Qualifications:

  • Current state license as an Occupational Therapist (OT)
  • Experience in school-based settings is preferred
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with educators, families, and other support staff
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Knowledge of developmental milestones and strategies for supporting students with diverse needs
  • Comfortable working with elementary, middle, and high school populations

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments and evaluate students needs to develop and implement individualized occupational therapy plans
  • Provide direct therapy services primarily to elementary students, with occasional work with older students as assigned
  • Consult and collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to create supportive environments for academic and social success
  • Document student progress, maintain accurate records, and participate in IEP meetings as required
  • Support students in developing functional life skills and adapting to the classroom environment
