We are actively seeking five licensed Occupational Therapists to join a dynamic school district team in Elgin, Illinois for the 2026-2027 school year. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate School Occupational Therapist to make a meaningful impact while supporting students across multiple educational settings.

As a School-Based Occupational Therapist, you will provide evaluation, intervention, consultation, and support services to students from Pre-K through Transition age (22 years old). This itinerant position serves multiple schools within the district, including elementary, middle, and high school campuses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide occupational therapy evaluations and assessments for students with disabilities.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with IEP goals.
  • Deliver direct and indirect occupational therapy services in school settings.
  • Collaborate with special education teachers, school psychologists, speech therapists, administrators, and families.
  • Support student participation in academic, social, and functional school activities.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and progress monitoring in compliance with district, state, and federal regulations.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions.
  • Travel between assigned school sites throughout the district.

Student Population

  • Ages: Pre-K through Transition Program (up to age 22)
  • Caseload size varies based on assigned schools
  • Multiple school assignments throughout the district

Schedule

  • Full-time position
  • 3537.5 hours per week
  • 77.5 hours per day
  • School start and end times vary by campus assignment

Qualifications

Required:

  • Active Occupational Therapist license through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
  • Active Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) Educator License
  • Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy program
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary educational teams

Preferred:

  • Previous school-based occupational therapy experience
  • Experience with IEP development and special education services
  • Familiarity with a variety of student disabilities and educational accommodations
