Job Description
Make a difference in the lives of elementary students by providing essential occupational therapy support in a vibrant, onsite school setting. This contract opportunity offers the chance to work with K-5 resource students, as well as those in a cross-categorical program, cultivating your clinical skills and enriching young learners educational experiences.
What youll need to succeed:
- Active Illinois Occupational Therapist (OT) license
- Previous experience in a school-based OT setting strongly preferred
- Familiarity working with diverse elementary caseloads, including resource and special education students
- Ability to manage a caseload of approximately 50 students across three buildings
- Excellent organizational and documentation skills
- Professional communication and collaboration abilities with school staff and families
- Willingness to fulfill any district-specific requirements for onsite clinicians
Key responsibilities:
- Provide occupational therapy interventions onsite to K-5 students, both in general resource settings and cross-categorical classes
- Conduct assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and support students goals within the educational environment
- Collaborate with teachers, special educators, and support teams to facilitate the integration of therapeutic strategies
- Maintain detailed records of student progress and collaborate in IEP meetings when necessary
- Travel between three schools (one class per building), managing an organized weekly schedule and adapting to the needs of each site
