Take on a rewarding opportunity making an impact as an Occupational Therapist working in a supportive educational setting near Elgin, IL. As a valued member of a multidisciplinary team, youll collaborate with educators and families to help K-12 students build the skills they need to thrive. This full-time, contract position offers a balanced schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:45 am to 3:15 pm, working with a flexible and diverse student caseload that may include Early Childhood Assessment Teams and multiple elementary buildings.
Essential Qualifications:
- Active Illinois Occupational Therapist credentials
- Previous experience supporting K-12 students in a school setting preferred
- Strong communication skills with the ability to consult and collaborate effectively
- Passion for fostering the independence and success of children with diverse needs
- Capability to adapt services across various ages, caseload sizes, and multiple school sites
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services tailored to students individual education plans
- Assess students needs, develop intervention strategies, and monitor progress
- Work closely with teachers, specialists, and families to integrate therapy into the school environment
- Participate as an active member of the Early Childhood Assessment Team, when needed
- Document evaluations, therapy sessions, and progress according to district guidelines
- Adjust schedules and service delivery as needed to support multiple school sites
