Job Description
Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity delivering Occupational Therapy services in a supportive, tight-knit school district located about 40 miles east of Albuquerque. This smaller district embraces travel therapists and values the expertise they bring to the dynamic Special Education team, serving approximately 500 students.
Work with a dedicated and collaborative group led by a compassionate director, where professionals thrive in a welcoming environment. Two positions are openone full-time (37.5 hours/week) and one part-time (2 days/week). The full-time therapist will support students at two elementary schools and provide targeted intervention to high schoolers, all conveniently located within walking distance of each other. Caseloads are manageable, with diverse needs and opportunities to positively impact students at multiple levels.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Active OT license and compliance with PED requirements
- Experience or strong interest in school-based occupational therapy
- Enthusiasm for collaboration and communication within multidisciplinary teams
- Commitment to documentation, assessment, and individualized intervention planning
- Flexibility and willingness to support both elementary and high school students as needed
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct therapy services based on IEP goals for elementary and high school students
- Conduct assessments and contribute to eligibility determination
- Maintain detailed documentation and ensure compliance with PED and district guidelines
- Participate in IEP meetings while collaborating with educators, assistants, and family members
- Communicate progress and recommendations clearly to all stakeholders
