Step into a meaningful contract position supporting students and staff across multiple school environments in the Albuquerque area. As an Occupational Therapist, youll collaborate directly with elementary and high school students, as well as contribute to the districts specialized autism program. Your expertise will help foster student growth and better outcomes, both in direct interventions and through invaluable consultation to teachers.
Desired Qualifications:
- Current Occupational Therapy (OT) license required
- Previous experience working in school settings is highly desirable
- Comfort managing a dynamic, itinerant caseload across multiple sites
- Skill in both direct student support and teacher consultation
- Strong communication and organizational abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide onsite OT services to students in two elementary schools (11-12 students each) and one high school (17-18 students)
- Support the autism-based district program off campus with both direct services and strategy development
- Conduct thorough assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and document progress
- Consult regularly with classroom teachers, offering strategies and adjustments to enhance student success
- Deliver both direct therapy and indirect services in compliance with all state and district policies
