Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students growth and achievement as an Occupational Therapist. Multiple openings are available for the upcoming school year, including two full-time positions and one long-term substitute role covering the first few months of the academic year (exact dates to be determined). This role provides the unique chance to make a meaningful impact with a manageable caseload in one building, while collaborating across several education centers in the region.
Key Qualifications:
- Hold a valid license as an Occupational Therapist in Minnesota
- Previous experience within a school-based setting preferred
- Knowledge and familiarity with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and related documentation
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, especially with diverse student populations and multidisciplinary teams
- Strong ability to adapt to varying student needs and foster a supportive learning environment
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct occupational therapy services for a caseload of 20-40 students, primarily those placed in setting 4
- Assess students functional abilities, develop therapy goals, and contribute to IEP planning and progress reviews
- Utilize evidence-based interventions to address students fine motor, sensory, and adaptive needs within the school context
- Engage with staff and families to provide strategies, updates, and recommendations for continued student success
- Maintain timely documentation and uphold all regulatory and ethical standards for school-based therapy
