Job Description

An opportunity is available for an Occupational Therapist to provide specialized services in school settings within the Detroit, MI area. This is a travel position offering the chance to work across various educational environments, supporting students developmental and functional needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and evaluate students motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living activities to develop individualized intervention plans.
  • Implement therapeutic techniques that promote students independence and success in the classroom.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to integrate therapy goals into the academic curriculum.
  • Document progress and maintain accurate records of student outcomes and treatment plans.
  • Provide consultative support and training to staff and caregivers regarding therapeutic strategies.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid state licensure or certification as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Experience working within school settings supporting pediatric populations.
  • Strong knowledge of educational and therapeutic practices related to childrens physical and cognitive development.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and families.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to travel between multiple schools within the Detroit region.
