Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting students across multiple school sites in the Elgin area as a dedicated Occupational Therapist. This full-time, itinerant contract role spans a dynamic school district and offers the chance to make a meaningful impact across age groups, from Pre-K through transition (up to age 22). You'll collaborate with educational teams to help students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally in their learning environments.
This position runs from late August through early June, providing a consistent schedule of 35 to 37.5 hours per week. Each day brings new settings and challenges, as you'll rotate between several elementary, middle, and high schools, tailoring your therapeutic approach to meet varying developmental needs.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid clinical license from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
- Active Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) educator license required
- Previous experience in a school-based environment is highly preferred
- Ability to work effectively with students from Pre-K through age 22
- Flexibility and willingness to travel between multiple school sites
- Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills
- Completion of background check and fingerprinting as required
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services to a diverse caseload based on school assignment
- Assess students functional abilities and develop individualized intervention plans
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and families to support student goals
- Document interventions and progress reports in compliance with district and state guidelines
- Travel between assigned schools to ensure quality support across the district
