Job Description
Make a difference in the lives of students by supporting their growth and development as a full-time Occupational Therapist. This contract opportunity, located near Des Plaines, IL, requires a skilled OT to fill a leave of absence from August through November, working 32.5 hours per week with students from early childhood through 5th grade. Your expertise will help shape positive outcomes for children as they navigate their formative years.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Illinois Occupational Therapy license required
- Experience in a school-based setting preferred
- Strong knowledge of pediatric occupational therapy techniques
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to manage a varied caseload across early childhood and elementary grade levels
- Commitment to supporting students independence and functional success
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group occupational therapy services to students in grades EC-5
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to develop and implement effective intervention plans
- Conduct assessments and create measurable goals to address students needs
- Maintain thorough documentation and progress reports in compliance with school policies
- Adapt therapy approaches to be engaging and age-appropriate
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student support teams
- Foster an inclusive, supportive environment for all learners
