Embark on a rewarding opportunity supporting students growth and independence as a school-based Occupational Therapist. This contract role offers the chance to make a daily impact across multiple sites near Dearborn, MI, from now through June 18, 2027, serving a well-defined caseload of 30-40 students. With a consistent weekly schedule totaling 32.5 hours and an on-site presence, youll collaborate with educators and children to foster crucial life skills and support IEP goals.
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Masters degree in occupational therapy from an accredited program
- Current OT license valid for Michigan practice
- Experience in pediatric or school settings highly preferred
- Ability to independently manage responsibilities, as supervision for COTAs is not available
- Skilled in evaluation, treatment planning, documentation, and reporting for school-aged children
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to coordinate with families, teachers, and administrative teams
- Flexibility to adjust to multiple locations and school environments
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting occupational therapy assessments and delivering evidence-based interventions
- Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans to support student participation in the school environment
- Documenting student progress in compliance with local, state, and federal requirements
- Actively participating in IEP meetings and collaborating with multidisciplinary school staff
- Providing education and ongoing consultation to teachers and families regarding therapy strategies and classroom adaptations
