In this role, you will utilize your Occupational Therapy expertise to support the growth and success of students from Pre-K through middle school. The focus will be on fine and gross motor development, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to create and implement effective strategies for students with a range of abilities.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Occupational Therapy license and certification (or eligibility) for the state of California
- Demonstrated experience supporting children in grades Pre-K to 8th, with a focus on elementary and middle school populations
- Proficiency in conducting assessments and developing individualized plans to enhance fine and gross motor skills
- Previous background in pediatric or school-based settings highly valued
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with teachers, families, and other service providers
- Organizational skills for managing varied caseloads across different grade levels
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and assess students motor skill needs and develop targeted treatment interventions
- Deliver direct therapy to students in both one-on-one and group formats, focusing on fostering independence in school-related tasks
- Consult with teachers and staff to integrate therapeutic strategies within classroom routines and curriculum
- Monitor student progress, maintain detailed documentation, and participate in IEP meetings
- Provide guidance to staff and families to reinforce strategies at home and in the classroom
