Job Description
Take on a rewarding opportunity as a part-time Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in a supportive educational environment. This contract position involves providing services across two locations, ensuring that students have access to essential occupational therapy to support their learning and development. Youll play a key role in helping students improve their functional abilities, working closely with fellow professionals, educators, and families.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid OT or COTA licensure required (please attach to your application).
- Previous experience within school settings, preferably supporting children and adolescents.
- Strong communication skillsable to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) is highly valued.
- Organizational abilities to manage multiple caseloads and document progress efficiently.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy interventions to students as determined by IEPs.
- Assess, plan, and adapt therapy activities appropriate for individual needs.
- Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and families to ensure integrated support.
- Maintain accurate documentation and timely reporting of sessions and student progress.
- Participate in relevant meetings and contribute to student planning discussions.
Role Details:
- Location: Valparaiso, IN, with coverage in Portage and at SELF school.
- Schedule: Two days per week, 14 hours total, M-F; hours are 7:45am3:15pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch.
- Contract period: 05/05/2026 to 06/05/2026.
