Job Description

Step into an impactful role as a long-term substitute Occupational Therapist at the elementary level, supporting students from August 24, 2026, through February 28, 2027. This full-time contract position will have you engaging daily with students and staff, ensuring access, independence, and student growth in a dynamic learning environment.

As an Occupational Therapist, youll deliver direct and consultative services in partnership with educators, administrators, families, and related service providers. Utilizing your expertise, youll help create meaningful change for students with a range of needs, focusing on individualized assessment, goal setting, and progress monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify student strengths and areas of need
  • Develop and implement individualized therapy plans consistent with IEP goals
  • Deliver direct occupational therapy interventions, as well as consult and collaborate with educational staff
  • Monitor progress, adjusting strategies and interventions based on student response
  • Attend IEP, parent, and multidisciplinary team meetings; contribute as an educational team member
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines
  • Serve as a knowledge resource for Assistive Technology evaluations, recommendations, and interventions
  • Support student participation within educational environments through purposeful therapeutic activities
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the administration

Qualifications:

  • Active Occupational Therapy license in Minnesota
  • Bachelors degree or above in Occupational Therapy
  • Experience with children and students with disabilities (school-based preferred)
  • Strong skills in communication, collaboration, and organization
  • Familiarity with Assistive Technology tools and practices is a plus
  • Comfort functioning within multidisciplinary teams
