Job Description

A full-time Occupational Therapist position is available for the 2025-26 school year in Colorado Springs, CO, serving a K-12 district. This contract role offers the opportunity to provide specialized occupational therapy services across multiple schools within the district while supporting students developmental and educational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations and develop individualized education programs (IEPs) for students.
  • Deliver direct and indirect occupational therapy services aligned with student needs.
  • Collaborate with educators, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to support student success.
  • Manage caseload according to district guidelines, ensuring adherence to caseload caps.
  • Provide occasional part-time in-home services (approximately 60 minutes per month).
  • Participate in required team meetings and complete documentation in a timely manner.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Colorado Occupational Therapy license and current teaching certification through Colorado Department of Education (CDE).
  • Experience working in educational settings (K-12) with knowledge of special education processes.
  • Proficiency in administering and interpreting occupational therapy evaluations.
  • Ability to provide therapy services via teletherapy and home health settings is a plus.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with students, families, and school staff.

Additional Details:

  • Full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week with itinerant assignments across multiple schools.
  • The district utilizes a caseload management system; administrative time and team meeting participation are supported.
  • Interviews offered via Zoom or in-person; scheduling is flexible and hiring decisions can be expedited.
  • Fingerprinting and all credentialing requirements must be current prior to starting.
