Step into an exciting opportunity as a school-based Occupational Therapist supporting a diverse student population across elementary, middle, and high school settings. You'll play a pivotal role helping students develop the skills to thrive in both academic and daily life. In this contract, full-time position, youll work onsite, dedicating 37.5 hours per week to making a meaningful difference. With a focus on an elementary caseload (approximately 30 students), youll collaborate with educators, families, and other specialists to deliver individualized, effective interventions.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Occupational Therapy license
- Previous experience in school settings (elementary focus preferred)
- Comfort working with a range of ages (elementary, middle, and high school)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to adapt strategies and interventions based on individual student needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and identify students needs for occupational therapy based on evaluations and teacher or family observations
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals for students
- Provide direct therapy services to students in 1:1 or small group settings
- Consult and collaborate with teachers, school staff, and families to integrate therapeutic strategies within the classroom and home
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student progress and compliance with all relevant regulations and policies
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, offering expertise in OT and contributing to whole-child educational planning
