Job Description

As an occupational therapist working in a school-based setting, you'll collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to help students overcome barriers to learning. Qualifications:

  • Valid Michigan occupational therapist license is required
  • Previous experience in a school or educational setting preferred
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams
  • Comfortable providing therapy services across elementary, middle, and high school age groups
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practices

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate students' needs and develop individualized intervention plans targeting academic performance, self-care, and functional skills
  • Deliver direct and indirect OT services in accordance with students IEPs
  • Consult and collaborate with teachers, counselors, and families to support student success
  • Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, and compliance with state and district guidelines
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary planning
  • Adapt and tailor interventions to suit the age and needs of each student population
