Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Valid Occupational Therapy license for Illinois
  • Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution
  • Previous experience working in school-based or pediatric settings preferred
  • Familiarity with IEP processes and creating relevant goals
  • Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to adapt therapy techniques for diverse student needs

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments and develop individualized therapeutic programs for students
  • Collaborate with educators, parents, and other specialists to integrate OT strategies into classroom routines
  • Maintain thorough documentation, including progress notes and IEP reports
  • Provide direct and indirect therapy sessions to address fine motor, sensory, and self-regulation skills
  • Participate in IEP meetings to contribute expertise and advocate for student needs
  • Offer guidance and resources to school staff on OT-related strategies
  • Monitor progress and adjust interventions to maximize student outcomes
