Step into a fulfilling opportunity as a school-based Occupational Therapist, supporting students from 9th grade through Transition in a vibrant educational environment near Chicago, IL. This full-time, contract position is set for the 26/27 academic year, offering the chance to make a meaningful impact while collaborating with dedicated professionals. With a work schedule of 7:30 am to 3:00 pm, Monday through Friday (including a 30-minute duty-free lunch), you'll enjoy a healthy work-life balance as you travel between sites in an itinerant role.
Key Qualifications:
- Possession of an active Illinois Occupational Therapy (OT) license
- Previous experience working with school-aged youth, preferably in secondary education and transition programs
- Strong communication skills and commitment to collaborative teamwork
- Ability to adapt therapeutic interventions to support diverse student needs in multiple settings
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality occupational therapy services to students in grades 9 through Transition
- Assess student needs and develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with educators and families
- Deliver direct and consultative services, integrating therapy into students daily activities and learning routines
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the creation of supportive educational environments
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports for each student under care
