Job Description

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity tailored for a credentialed Occupational Therapist seeking a summer assignment in metro-Detroit. This role is perfect for licensed professionals with experience in school-based OT, home health, and healthcare settings, looking to make a meaningful impact through ESY (Extended School Year) services.

Youll be working Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 8am to noon, spanning from July 7th through August 6th. The position offers the chance to serve students across the district, with both itinerant placement and compensated travel. Caseload is still being determined as registrations continue, ensuring a dynamic environment focused on providing high-quality individualized therapy.

Qualifications & Desired Experience

  • Active licensure as an Occupational Therapist in Michigan
  • Proven background in school-based OT and/or pediatric settings
  • Familiarity with IEP processes and documentation practices
  • Experience in home health or healthcare a plus
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong organizational skills and adaptability to changing caseloads

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver direct and indirect OT services to students as part of the ESY program
  • Manage and document therapy interventions in accordance with district IEP systems
  • Participate in paid team meetings and collaborate with school staff and families
  • Flexibly adapt to caseload changes as students are registered throughout the assignment
  • Travel between assigned school sites in the district as needed, with travel compensated
