This contract opportunity, located near Cannon Air Force Base in New Mexico, is ideal for a caring and experienced OT ready to provide impactful support within a school setting for the 2026-2027 academic year. Youll collaborate with dedicated faculty and staff, working onsite and engaging directly with students across different school sites.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Licensed Occupational Therapist in the state of New Mexico
- Previous experience providing OT services within school settings, preferably itinerant roles
- Strong assessment and evaluation skills, including the ability to develop and implement IEPs
- Proficient in report-writing and maintaining accurate student documentation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for collaborating with teachers, staff, and families
- Adaptability and organizational skills for managing varied caseloads in a dynamic environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct occupational therapy services to students with varied needs across multiple campuses
- Assess and evaluate students as needed; create and implement individualized treatment plans
- Attend IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary planning for student success
- Conduct thorough documentation and prepare detailed reports related to student progress and therapy outcomes
- Collaborate with educators and families to support generalization of skills and ensure holistic care
- Travel between designated school sites as required by assigned caseload
