Your expertise will help students reach their fullest potential through targeted interventions that improve their participation in school activities. Youll work closely with teachers, administrators, and families to develop and implement individualized plans tailored to each students needs.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Masters degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist in Connecticut (or eligibility to obtain before starting)
- Prior experience working in school settings is preferred
- Strong understanding of pediatric occupational therapy practices
- Effective communication skills with students, educators, and families
- Ability to manage a diverse caseload efficiently and compassionately
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate students and develop individualized treatment goals
- Deliver direct and consultative OT services in accordance with IEPs
- Document progress, maintain accurate records, and participate in IEP meetings
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to integrate OT strategies into the classroom environment
- Educate families and school personnel about strategies to support student success
- Adapt interventions as student needs change during the coverage period
