A school-based occupational therapy position is available in Bridgeport, CT, offering an opportunity to support student development and enhance learning experiences through tailored therapeutic interventions. This contract role focuses on helping students improve their functional abilities and participate fully in educational activities.
Responsibilities:
- Assess and evaluate students needs related to fine motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living activities
- Develop and implement individualized occupational therapy plans to promote student success in the classroom
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to support student development
- Maintain accurate documentation of therapy sessions and progress reports in compliance with school policies
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings to discuss student progress and adapt therapy goals as needed
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Valid Occupational Therapy licensure in the state of Connecticut
- Experience providing occupational therapy services within a school or educational setting
- Strong knowledge of pediatric developmental milestones and school-based therapy practices
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and staff
- Ability to adapt therapy approaches to meet diverse student needs
