Occupational Therapist School-Based Contract Position
Location: Bridgeport, CT
Seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to support students within a school setting through a contract opportunity in Bridgeport, CT. This role focuses on delivering specialized therapeutic services that promote the development and success of children in educational environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess students functional abilities and develop individualized treatment plans focusing on occupational therapy goals.
- Implement therapeutic interventions to improve fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-care, and classroom participation.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student progress and provide recommendations.
- Document therapy sessions, progress notes, and maintain compliance with school and state regulations.
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contribute professional insights regarding student needs.
- Adapt therapy techniques to meet the diverse needs of learners in a dynamic school environment.
Qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapy license in the state of Connecticut.
- Experience working as an OT in school settings preferred.
- Strong understanding of pediatric developmental milestones and school-based interventions.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, families, and school staff.
