Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Occupational Therapist (OT) license in South Dakota, or eligibility to obtain
- Experience working with students in a school-based setting preferred
- Strong assessment, intervention, and progress-monitoring skills
- Ability to adapt therapeutic approaches to meet diverse student needs
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments for students with various needs
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans targeting students functional skills
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to align OT goals with educational objectives
- Document evaluations, progress notes, and treatment updates in compliance with district and state guidelines
- Provide both direct and consultative therapy services across multiple grade levels
- Contribute to Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and participate in multidisciplinary team evaluations
- Offer staff in-service training and strategies to promote students independence and success in the classroom
