Make a meaningful impact supporting students across elementary, middle, and high school settings as an Occupational Therapist at a welcoming district near Bernalillo, NM. This in-person, full-time contract position offers the chance to work closely with a diverse group of approximately 30 studentswith a primary focus on elementary populationshelping them reach their academic and developmental goals.
Qualifications & Preferred Experience:
- Active state licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OT)
- Previous experience in a school-based setting is preferred
- Comfortable working across all age groups: elementary, middle, and high school
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to adapt therapeutic interventions to meet varied student needs
- Commitment to fostering inclusive, supportive environments
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group occupational therapy services to students, focusing mainly on elementary-aged children
- Collaborate with teachers, other therapists, and families to create and implement effective intervention plans
- Assess students needs and provide recommendations for classroom accommodations and adaptations
- Maintain accurate records and progress notes in compliance with district and state guidelines
- Participate in IEP meetings, contributing expertise and advocating for student success
- Engage with school staff for ongoing training and consultation
