Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Occupational Therapist license for the state
- Experience working with school-aged children, preferably in a school environment
- Skilled in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans (IEPs and 504 Plans)
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and other professionals
- Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills
- Compassionate, patient, and adaptable to diverse student needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate students to determine their abilities and challenges related to classroom performance
- Design and execute tailored therapy interventions to support students participation in school activities
- Attend and contribute to IEP meetings, creating comprehensive goal documentation
- Educate teachers and staff on strategies and tools to promote student independence
- Maintain accurate records of therapy sessions, progress notes, and ongoing assessments
- Collaborate regularly with families, caregivers, and the wider educational team to ensure continuity of care
- Remain current with best practices in pediatric occupational therapy and educational regulations
