Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity providing a blend of school-based and home health occupational therapy services in proximity to Aurora, IL. This dynamic position supports students through a combination of onsite and teletherapy methods, offering versatility and meaningful impact across educational settings. The assignment aligns with the academic calendar, beginning in mid-August and concluding at the end of May.
Ideal candidates bring strong experience in school environments, healthcare, or teletherapy, and are skilled at adapting their practice to the unique needs of each student population. Youll collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, drawing on best practices in individualized education program (IEP) development and student-centered therapy.
What youll need:
- Valid Occupational Therapist licensure in Illinois
- Demonstrated experience in school-based and/or pediatric occupational therapy
- Familiarity with teletherapy and home health OT services (preferred)
- Comfort with IEP documentation and associated digital systems (training provided)
- Flexibility to travel between schools as an itinerant provider (travel is compensated)
- Strong organizational and communication skills
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering occupational therapy services directly to a diverse caseload, ranging in age and needs
- Supporting virtual and in-person therapy sessions aligned with district guidelines
- Participating in IEP meetings, providing input on student progress and goal setting
- Managing caseloads within district cap and adhering to all administrative guidelines
- Collaborating with teachers, support staff, and families to foster student independence
- Documenting outcomes and updating treatment plans within the IEP system
