Job Description

Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid and current Occupational Therapist license in New York
  • Experience working with children or adolescents, preferably in a school setting
  • Knowledge of IEPs (Individualized Education Programs) and development of appropriate goals
  • Strong communication skills for working with teachers, families, and students
  • Compassionate, adaptable, and eager to help students achieve their full potential
  • Ability to assess students needs and develop intervention plans

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments to identify students occupational therapy needs
  • Develop and implement individualized therapy interventions in alignment with students' IEPs
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, support staff, and families to foster student progress
  • Document student progress, prepare reports, and participate in meetings as required
  • Provide training and resources to school staff on supporting student needs
  • Utilize creative strategies to engage students and deliver meaningful activities
