Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current licensure to practice Occupational Therapy in New York State
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program

  • Strong collaboration skills to thrive as part of a multidisciplinary educational team
  • Familiarity with IEP development, documentation, and goal setting for students with diverse needs
  • Excellent communication skills with students, families, and school staff

Role Responsibilities:

  • Assess students fine motor, sensory, perceptual, and self-care skills to identify needs
  • Develop and implement individualized therapy plans in alignment with students educational goals
  • Work closely with special education teachers, aides, and other professionals to deliver holistic support
  • Provide therapeutic interventions both in individual and group settings, adapting activities to suit varying abilities
  • Participate in IEP meetings and deliver comprehensive progress reports
  • Educate staff and caregivers on best practices to foster independence and functional development
  • Maintain detailed and timely documentation of services and progress
