Job Description

This contract opportunity offers the chance to make a direct impact in local schools, working onsite near Arlington Heights, IL, for 35 hours per week with an immediate start date.

As a valued member of a team of eight Occupational Therapists, you will play a vital role in supporting middle school students by participating in building-level teams. Your expertise will be key for conducting initial and re-evaluations to determine eligibility for special education services. Youll also provide support within the MTSS and IEP frameworks, and serve as a consultant to teaching teams, ensuring that skills transfer seamlessly into the classroom environment.

Qualifications:

  • Active Illinois Occupational Therapist (OT) license required
  • Experience in a school-based setting preferred
  • Familiarity with MTSS and IEP processes strongly desired
  • Outstanding collaboration and communication skills
  • Ability to consult with multidisciplinary teams for comprehensive student support
  • Must meet any additional state or district requirements specified for Occupational Therapists

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct initial and re-evaluations for special education eligibility
  • Support students under both MTSS and IEP plans
  • Collaborate as a member of building-level professional teams
  • Consult with educators to facilitate the generalization of skills into classrooms
  • Maintain thorough documentation in compliance with state and district guidelines
