Step into an impactful contract opportunity supporting intermediate students in a vibrant elementary setting. This position focuses on providing occupational therapy services for grades 3-5 in a single building, allowing you to build meaningful connections and deliver targeted interventions. With a clear schedule, manageable caseload, and supportive atmosphere, youll help students thrive academically and functionally throughout the school year.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid occupational therapy license for Illinois, or eligible to obtain prior to the start date
- Previous experience working as a school-based occupational therapist strongly preferred
- Demonstrated expertise in fine motor and sensory support interventions
- Comfortable working consultatively as well as providing direct services
- Effective communication and collaboration skills with staff, students, and families
Primary Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with teachers and support staff to design and implement strategies for students needing fine motor and sensory support
- Deliver direct occupational therapy services to a caseload of approximately 25 students
- Participate in IEP meetings, update documentation, and prepare progress reports
- Maintain a strong consultative presence, providing input, resources, and coaching to maximize student independence
- Consistently monitor, assess, and adjust supports based on student progress and needs
Schedule:
- Work 2 full days per week or spread your hours over more days with shorter shifts
- School hours are 8:05 am to 2:45 pm
- Contract begins September 8, 2026, and ends June 16, 2027
