Job Description

Make a meaningful impact in the lives of high school students as a dedicated Occupational Therapist working with a supportive educational team near Vernon Hills, IL. This full-time contract opportunity focuses on serving students in grades 9 through 12, helping them develop critical life and learning skills needed for future success. Youll work a consistent weekday schedule, collaborating closely with teachers, families, and other specialists while tailoring services to each student on your caseload of approximately 18.

Qualifications:

  • Current and valid Illinois Occupational Therapy credential
  • Experience working with adolescent populations, ideally within a school setting
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to create individualized treatment plans supporting physical, sensory, and academic development
  • Commitment to educational best practices and ongoing professional growth

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide occupational therapy services to high-school-age students, supporting their access to curriculum and school participation
  • Conduct assessments, set appropriate goals, and monitor progress
  • Prepare and maintain required documentation and participate in IEP meetings
  • Collaborate with educational staff and families to ensure holistic support
  • Recommend adaptive strategies or interventions to maximize student independence
  • Foster a positive, encouraging environment that helps each student reach their potential
