This contract-to-hire position offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on a manageable caseload of 24 students, blending your expertise in school-based and healthcare occupational therapy to foster growth and support children's development.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Valid Illinois OT license and credentials
- Experience or strong interest in working with children, particularly within a school environment
- Skills in School, Home Health, and Healthcare Occupational Therapy practices
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and documentation abilities
- Compassion, adaptability, and collaborative spirit
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative occupational therapy services to elementary-age students
- Assess and document student needs, set measurable goals, and deliver interventions tailored to individual strengths and challenges
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to support each childs IEP and overall success
- Maintain accurate records, progress reports, and compliance with school and state guidelines
- Contribute actively to IEP meetings and parent conferences as needed
- Advocate for student accessibility, inclusion, and skill development in classroom and school activities
