Step into a rewarding contract role as a full-time Occupational Therapist for a long-term substitute assignment serving elementary students. This opportunity spans the school year calendar from August 24, 2026, through February 28, 2027, where youll make a meaningful impact supporting students in their educational journey. Working closely with special education teams, classroom teachers, and families, youll play a key role in helping students with disabilities achieve greater independence and academic success.
What Youll Need:
- Valid Occupational Therapy license through the Minnesota Board of Occupational Therapy Practice
- Bachelors degree or higher in Occupational Therapy
- Previous experience in a school-based environment is preferred
- Background working with children and students with disabilities
- Strong skills in communication, organization, and teamwork
- Familiarity with Assistive Technology and related tools is a plus
- Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct evaluations to identify students occupational therapy needs
- Develop, implement, and adjust individualized therapy plans aligned to IEP goals
- Deliver both direct and consultative OT services
- Document progress, maintain records, and ensure compliance
- Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and multidisciplinary team gatherings
- Provide insights and support regarding Assistive Technology assessments and solutions
- Empower student access to curriculum and learning environments through evidence-based interventions
