Qualifications:

  • Valid Occupational Therapist license in Michigan (or ability to obtain)
  • Previous experience working with children or in a school-based setting preferred
  • Strong understanding of IEP processes and documentation
  • Excellent communication skills with students, staff, and families
  • Ability to adapt interventions to diverse learning needs and age groups
  • Organizational skills for managing caseloads and meeting deadlines

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct student assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
  • Deliver therapy sessions that foster students fine motor, sensory, and adaptive skills
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, special education staff, and families to integrate OT goals into the classroom
  • Participate in IEP meetings, providing insights and recommendations for student accommodations
  • Monitor, document, and report progress, adjusting interventions as needed
  • Educate staff and parents on strategies and tools to support student success both in and out of school
