Qualifications:
- Current Ohio O&M Specialist certification required
- Experience working with school-aged students across diverse grade levels is preferred
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with educational teams, students, and families
- Ability to adapt instruction and support to meet individual student needs
- Willingness to travel between different school buildings as necessary
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct orientation and mobility instruction to students with visual impairments, supporting their independence and navigation across school environments
- Assess student skills, develop individualized plans and set tailored goals in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Consult with teachers, administrators, and families to ensure effective implementation of orientation and mobility strategies across settings
- Maintain detailed records, progress reports, and participate in team meetingsvirtually or in personas needed
- Adapt service delivery to align with each students schedule, with flexibility in hours coordinated through ongoing communication
