An opportunity is available for a skilled Orientation and Mobility Specialist to provide expertise and support in a school setting located in Waterford, MI. This full-time, contract role involves working primarily within Early Childhood (EC) programs to help students develop critical orientation and mobility skills.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized orientation and mobility training and instruction tailored to students individual needs.
• Collaborate with educators, therapists, and families to integrate mobility strategies into students daily routines.
• Conduct assessments and develop personalized plans focusing on increasing independence and safety.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student progress.
• Comply with all school policies, including district fingerprinting requirements and professional standards.

Qualifications:

• Valid Michigan Orientation and Mobility license required.
• Proven professional experience in school settings, preferably working with early childhood programs.
• Ability to work onsite for a 35-hour workweek, managing a caseload primarily involving EC students.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills to effectively collaborate within the educational environment.
• Completion of district fingerprinting clearance as part of employment compliance.
