Qualifications and Experience

  • Valid Orientation and Mobility (O&M) Specialist license required
  • Experience working with school-aged children or youth preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable delivering services in community settings outside of typical classrooms
  • Ability to adapt plans to meet individual student needs

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and instruct students on safe navigation skills tailored to their current capabilities and environments
  • Collaborate with educational teams and families to develop specific mobility goals and progress plans
  • Document sessions, progress, and outcomes in compliance with professional standards
  • Tailor strategies and interventions for each student, ensuring effective and meaningful outcomes
