Qualifications and Experience
- Valid Orientation and Mobility (O&M) Specialist license required
- Experience working with school-aged children or youth preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable delivering services in community settings outside of typical classrooms
- Ability to adapt plans to meet individual student needs
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and instruct students on safe navigation skills tailored to their current capabilities and environments
- Collaborate with educational teams and families to develop specific mobility goals and progress plans
- Document sessions, progress, and outcomes in compliance with professional standards
- Tailor strategies and interventions for each student, ensuring effective and meaningful outcomes
- Maintain a supportive, inclusive, and encouraging atmosphere during all sessions
