Qualifications and Experience:

• Current Virginia Orientation and Mobility Specialist certification required
• Experience supporting students across various age groups, preferably in K-12 educational settings
• Ability to adapt strategies to diverse learning environments and individual student needs
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities
• Passion for fostering independence in students with visual impairments

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide orientation and mobility instruction to students across multiple school sites within the district
• Develop individualized instructional plans based on student assessments and educational goals
• Collaborate with educators, families, and other specialists to ensure comprehensive support for each student
• Maintain thorough records and monitor progress toward identified goals
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and district-wide initiatives as required
