Job Description

Your primary focus will include direct support, assessment, and instruction to students, ensuring that they develop essential mobility and orientation skills. Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) license required
  • Experience serving K-12 student populations preferred
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Must be comfortable traveling between school sites within Greene and Washington Counties
  • Ability to adapt to changing caseloads and work independently
  • Prior experience in a school setting highly valued

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive student assessments and develop individualized O&M instructional plans
  • Deliver direct instruction in orientation and mobility techniques to students across various schools
  • Collaborate with educators, families, and support staff to promote student independence in school and community environments
  • Maintain clear, thorough documentation of student progress and services provided
  • travel independently between multiple sites as part of a full-time, 37.5 hour workweek
