An exciting contract opportunity is open for a dedicated Orientation and Mobility Specialist ready to make an impact with students in a supportive school environment. This role focuses on working directly with students who have visual impairments, in an onsite setting located near Tracy, CA. Your expertise will help young learners develop essential skills for spatial awareness, safe navigation, and independence across varied environments.

As an Orientation and Mobility Specialist, you will collaborate closely with educators, families, and other specialists to provide valuable training and support. The schedule offers part-time flexibility, working on-site 2-3 days per week throughout the current and next school year.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Current Orientation & Mobility Certification for California
  • Experience working with students who are blind or have low vision
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities
  • Passion for supporting student growth and independence
  • Adaptability to work in varied school environments

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver orientation and mobility instruction to students with visual impairments
  • Develop and implement individualized training plans based on student needs
  • Teach spatial awareness and sensory techniques for navigation
  • Monitor progress and adjust strategies as necessary
  • Collaborate with teaching staff, families, and related services
  • Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports
