A part-time, school-based opportunity is available for an Orientation and Mobility Specialist in Rudyard, MI, supporting students across grades K-12. This role requires a professional with Michigan Orientation and Mobility (O&M) Specialist credentials who is committed to enhancing the independence and mobility skills of visually impaired students within a school setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and develop individualized orientation and mobility plans tailored to each students needs.
- Provide direct instruction and support to students, promoting safe and effective travel techniques.
- Collaborate with educators, families, and other professionals to integrate mobility goals across the educational program.
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports for all students served.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Michigan Orientation and Mobility Specialist certification.
- Experience working in a K-12 school environment preferred.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to manage a caseload and prioritize flexible scheduling demands.
