Based in the Portsmouth, VA area, this contract assignment is onsite, offering a varied and engaging caseload across an entire district for the 2026-2027 school year.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

• Must hold a valid Virginia Orientation & Mobility (O&M) Certification
• Proven experience working as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist, ideally within school environments
• Expertise supporting students from kindergarten through high school
• Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and communicate effectively with families and staff
• Strong organizational skills for managing a district-wide caseload

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized and group orientation and mobility instruction to students with visual impairments across multiple schools
• Assess student needs and develop goal-oriented, effective mobility programs
• Collaborate with educators, family members, and other service providers to support each students IEP goals
• Travel between assigned schools as needed to deliver services onsite
• Maintain detailed documentation of student progress and communicate updates with the educational team
