Qualifications:

  • Valid Texas Orientation and Mobility (O&M) License required
  • Proficient in both English and Spanish (bilingual Spanish speakers strongly preferred)
  • Background working with K-12 students, particularly in orientation and mobility
  • Ability to independently deliver services in a virtual environment
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset with educators and families

Responsibilities:

  • Provide remote orientation and mobility instruction and assessments for K-12 students with visual impairments
  • Develop and implement individualized O&M plans tailored to each students unique needs
  • Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure comprehensive student support
  • Monitor, document, and report on student progress and adapt approaches as necessary
  • Attend virtual meetings, professional development, and team planning sessions regularly
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices and compliance standards in O&M
